Paid Vacation, Holiday, Sick Leave

•   Paid Vacation — a minimum of three weeks per year. Additional vacation accrues with increasing years of service.
•   Holiday — 13 paid holidays per year.
•   Sick Leave — accrues at 12 days per year. No maximum. Payable if absent for reasons of health.

Health Care

•   Comprehensive health and welfare plans.
•   Medical — a number of plans are offered. The University pays the full premium for at least one health plan.
•   Dental — two comprehensive University-paid plans are offered.
•   Vision — a University-paid plan is offered.
•   Pre-tax dependent care and healthcare reimbursement accounts.

Life Insurance

•   The University purchases a life-insurance policy equal to your annual earnings up to a maximum of $50,000. You may purchase additional coverage for up to four times your annual salary rate.

Short and Long Term Disability

•   The University provides basic coverage for non-work related disability in addition to Workers’ Compensation for work-related disability. You may purchase additional disability insurance to supplement this benefit.

Legal Expense Insurance

•   You may purchase a policy for covered legal services on a pre-paid basis.

Pre-Tax Accounts

•   You may pay your portion of health plan premiums (if any) on a pre-tax basis.
•   You may pay dependent-care expenses on a pre-tax basis (up to IRS limits).
•   You may pay for parking, transit passes or van pooling by payroll deduction on a pre-tax basis (subject to limits).
•   Pre-tax dependent-care and healthcare reimbursement accounts.

Retirement / Savings Programs

•   University of California Retirement Plan.
•   Tax-deferred 403 (b) Plan.
•   Defined Benefit Retirement Plan with survivor and disability income features.
